Ray Chen is a Taiwanese-Australian classical violinist. He began his musical studies at age 4 and was performing regionally and winning competitions by age 8. He was awarded first prize in the Yehudi Menuhin International Competition for Young Violinists when he was 16. He went on to study at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia and the Kronberg Academy in Germany. Working with great conductors, he has performed in major concert venues around the world with renowned orchestras like the Berliner Philharmoniker and London Symphony Orchestra. Over the course of his career, he has released several albums of classical music and currently serves as an Artist in Residence at the Hong Kong Philharmonic.
