Richard Bona is a Grammy Award-nominated jazz bassist and vocalist born in 1967 in Minta, Cameroon. His melodic bass playing has become a signature sound for a long list of A-list artists, and in 2000, he released his solo debut album Scenes from My Life. Bona has become known for his fusion of jazz, pop, and African styles, and has been awarded the Order of Merit by the Republic of Guinea for his contribution to African music. He has released several more studio albums, and continues to tour around the world, fusing genres and collaborating with top musicians. He also released a book, Richard Bona's 101 Bass Grooves in 2017.
