SASAMI is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer from Los Angeles, California. She released her self-titled debut album in 2019, which Pitchfork named the 44th best album of the year. The album was praised by Pitchfork for its "forthright and affecting lyrics" and "irresistible melodies". In September 2020, she released a new single, Not The Time, which Rolling Stone named one of the best new tracks of the week. SASAMI is known for her melancholic and dreamy sound, combining experimental production and lo-fi folk-pop. She has collaborated with numerous artists, including Shamir, Cherry Glazerr, and Courtney Barnett. In 2019, SASAMI performed alongside artists such as St. Vincent and the National at the LA Phil's Reyonna Whitney festival.
