Shakaya is a hip-hop and rap artist from the Gold Coast, Australia who gained fame in the early 2000s. Shakaya's first single, ''Stop Calling Me'', was released in 2001 and achieved commercial success in Australia. Her debut album, self-titled Shakaya, was released in 2002 and quickly climbed to the Top 10 albums in Australia.

Shakaya released a further 2 albums, ''Out The Box'' in 2004 and ''Compassion'' in 2007. The singles ''One Last Time'', ''Forgive Me'' and ''These Eyes'' gained a Top 40 position in the ARIA singles chart nor Australia during 2003.

In later years, Shakaya continued to write and record music, releasing some of it on the website Soundcloud. She also released a mixtape with hip-hop artist Illy in 2018. In 2019 Shakaya released the EP ''Red Light'' and a single with Louis Brossmann, ''Sword
