SMUG, officially known as Sexual Minorities Uganda, is a prominent non-governmental organization based in Kampala, Uganda. Founded in 2004, SMUG advocates for the rights and well-being of the LGBTQ+ community in a country where such rights are often under threat. The organization works tirelessly to combat discrimination and promote inclusivity through education, advocacy, and support services. Despite facing significant challenges, including legal and societal opposition, SMUG remains a leading voice in the fight for equality in Uganda.
