Hailed as one of the greatest jazz guitarists of all time, Stanley Jordan is an American jazz musician celebrated for his innovative and genre-defying approach to guitar playing. Making his first professional appearance at the age of 13, Jordan was performing in clubs around his native state of New Jersey before he had graduated from high school. He went on to study at the University of Miami and the Peabody Conservatory before he was signed by Blue Note Records in 1985.

Widely considered a pioneer of two-handed tapping, or 'touch style' guitar playing, Jordan has released a total of 19 albums throughout his career, including his 1985 breakthrough album, Magic Touch. In addition to his own music, he also toured with the likes of legendary guitarist Stéphane Grappelli and saxophonist Michael Brecker. Jordan is a three time Grammy award nominee and in 2005 he received an honorary doctorate from the Berklee College of Music.
