Steve Mason is a Scottish singer-songwriter and musician from Edinburgh. He has released five studio albums, the most successful of which is 'Boys Outside', released in 2010, which peaked at number 13 on the UK Albums Chart. His music is a mix of indie and folk, with a strong emphasis on his vocals and understated instrumentation. Mason has been previously known as the lead singer and principal songwriter of the now defunct English band The Beta Band and for his collaboration with the band King Biscuit Time. His solo work has been critically acclaimed, with Tom Robinson of BBC Radio 6 Music summarising Mason as: "one of Britain's finest singer-songwriters". Mason has released a string of singles throughout his career, the most popular of which is the song "Altered States", released in 2015. Over his career, Mason has toured extensively around Europe and the UK in solo and band settings.
