Stick in the Wheel is an English folk music band from East London, UK. Originally started out as a music project by Nicola Kearey and Ian Carter, the band have gone on to become recognized as a core part of the folk music revival in the UK. Their music explores English Folk traditions, cycling through history, drawing on old and new influences in order to create their unique sound. Through a combination of compelling narrative and distinct sound, their music has been given considerable critical acclaim. The band has been featured on BBC Radio 2, 3, 6 Music, Radio Scotland and more, in addition to playing a plethora of festivals, both in the UK and abroad. Their most recent release, From Here, is an album made up of traditional English Folk songs along with some of the band's own compositions, and was awarded Album of the Year in 2018 by fROOTS magazine.
