About The Black Lips
The Black Lips are a garage rock/psych band founded in 1999 in Atlanta, Georgia. Along with The White Stripes, The Black Keys, and The Strokes, they are credited with helping create the garage rock revival of the 2000s. Their debut album, 2003’s “Let It Bloom”, was praised for its catchy, lo-fi sound. Since their debut, The Black Lips have released a total of six studio albums, and their sound has evolved over time from its garage rock roots to incorporate other genres like punk, experimental, and psychedelic rock. The group has also earned a reputation for its notoriously wild live shows, and continues to be popular on festival lineups.
