About The Clash

The Clash were a seminal punk rock band that formed in London in 1976. They are best known for their political lyrics, musical experimentation, and their enthusiastic onstage performances. The band released 6 full-length studio albums, their most successful of which was London Calling (1979). It was an eclectic mix of punk, rock, reggae and funk, which earned the band worldwide critical acclaim and influenced many future rock artists. The Clash disbanded in 1986 but they had a lasting impact on music that would kick start the punk revolution of the late 70s and 80s. The Clash were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003, cementing their legacy as one of the most influential punk bands of all time.
