The Detonators are an Australian 5-piece surf rock and psychobilly band from Melbourne. They formed in 2003 and have been steadily releasing music since 2006, currently with seven albums in their discography. Their music combines the sound of surf rock with punk, rockabilly, and roots to create a fusion of vibrant and energetic tracks ranging from high-octane firecrackers to slow-burning tales of heartache and regret. The group has toured extensively across Australia, Europe, and the United States, as well as opening for the likes of Social Distortion and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Their most recent album, 2017’s We’re Coming For You, saw their popularity surge, with the band performing on the Australian edition of popular music program Later...with Jools Holland. The Detonators are set to head out on tour later this year in support of the album and their forthcoming eighth LP.
