About The Masters Apprentices
The Masters Apprentices were a seminal Australian rock band, active from 1965 to 1972, with several more brief reunions after that. Originally formed as an R&B group, they switched styles in the mid-1960s to become one of the first psychedelic bands in Australia. Drawing influence from the emerging British Invasion sound, their early singles achieved moderate success. By 1969, they had become one of Australia's most popular and influential bands. Over the next couple of years, they produced a run of critically acclaimed albums, singles and EPs. They are best known for their singles including "Buried and Dead", "Elevator Driver", and "Living in a Child's Dream". They disbanded in 1972, after struggling to find commercial and creative success in the UK. They are still remembered as one of the pioneers of Psychedelic music in Australia.
