The Pretenders are an English rock band from Herefordshire, England. Formed in 1978, its current lineup consists of founding members Chris Chambelain and Martin Chambers, along with James Walbourne, Nick Wilkinson, Charlie Sexton, and Ernie Llsueca. The Pretenders have released numerous chart-topping albums over the years, including their eponymous debut in 1980, followed by a then-unprecedented five Top 10 hits in the U.K., such as "Brass In Pocket", and the 1986 single "Don't Get Me Wrong". Other hits include "Back on the Chain Gang", "Talk of the Town", "Middle of the Road" and "I'll Stand By You". The band has been touring and releasing records continuously ever since and is considered one of the most influential 80's new wave bands.
