The Sound of Animals Fighting is an experimental rock band which was formed in 2004 by Rich Balling of Vitamin String Quartet. Since then, they have released three studio albums as well as several EPs and singles. Their sound includes elements of post-hardcore, progressive rock, and ambient music. They have toured extensively, both with their own solo shows as well as supporting acts such as Coheed and Cambria, Thrice, and Avenged Sevenfold. They are known for their uniquely organic and imaginative approach to performing live, often incorporating multimedia elements into their live show.
