About The Word Alive
The Word Alive is an American metalcore band from Phoenix, Arizona. Founded in 2008, the band consists of lead vocalist Telle Smith, guitarists Zack Hansen and Tony Pizzuti, and drummer Luke Holland. Releasing their first EP, Empire, in 2008, the band’s extended play Deceiver made its debut in July 2010 under the Fearless Records label. Subsequently debuting their studio album, Deceiver, in August 2012, the band released their most successful record yet, Real., in May 2014. Their fourth album, Dark Matter, appeared in March 2016. With all four albums cracking the Top 20 of the Billboard 200, their music has become steadily more popular among fans of heavy metal. The Word Alive has also toured extensively, playing festivals such as Mayhem Festival, Warped Tour, Download Festival, and Soundwave Festival.
