About Tony Levin
Tony Levin is an American bassist, bass guitar synthesist, vocalist, and composer best known for his work with progressive rock artists like Peter Gabriel, King Crimson, and A Perfect Circle.
Levin began his music career as a classical bassist in New York in 1971 and quickly extended into jazz. By the 1980s, he had established himself as one of the leading session musicians of his time, playing with acts like John Lennon, Judy Collins, and Pink Floyd. Levin is also a founding member of the fusion band Stick Men, and has released a number of solo albums during his career.
In addition to his bass playing, Levin is also an accomplished vocalist, often providing backing vocals to the bands he has worked with. He has also featured as a guest vocalist on a number of albums, including Amanda Palmer’s 2009 record ‘Who Killed Amanda Palmer’.
