Trail West is a traditional country-and-western group from Central Scotland that formed in 1989. The band, which originally comprised of six members, was founded by singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Dougie Charleson and were immediately successful in the live music scene in Scotland. In 1992, they released their debut album, ‘First Steps’, which was warmly received by the critics, and the collection of self-penned tracks helped establish Trail West as one of the up and coming acts in the country and western genre. Following a series of successful tours around Scotland, the band released their second album, ‘Ride On’ in 1995 which achieved international success, selling over two million copies. Over the course of the next 15 years, Trail West continued to tour extensively, culminating in 2005's ‘Further West’ album which was their biggest selling release to date.
