About Tygers of Pan Tang
Tygers of Pan Tang is an English new wave of British heavy metal band formed in 1978 in Whitley Bay, England. Their sound has consisted of hard-rocking guitar-driven , melodic music with influences of early heavy metal, glam and blues rock. The group experienced several lineup changes along the way; vocalist Rob Weir served the longest stint in the band from 1979 to 1985, and was replaced by Jess Cox for the remaining two albums.
The band's biggest hit was the 1980 single "Love Potion No. 9". They had further success with the single "Rendezvous" in 1981 and their 1982 album, "Crazy Nights". Although they continued to release records throughout the 80s, their popularity decreased and they eventually disbanded in 1987, following the release of their seventh studio album "Mystical". The band regrouped in 1999 and released "Ambush" and continue to tour.
