UMI is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from Seattle, Washington. She has released two projects, her EP Introspection that was released in 2015 and her full length album Reconnection in 2018. She uses a mix of jazz, hip-hop and soul influences to create a unique musical style that emphasizes emotion and storytelling. Her music has been met with positive reviews from outlets including NPR, Vibe Mag and Mixmag. She has toured with artists such as Erykah Badu, Anderson .Paak, Little Simz, and others. She has also been featured on the TV show Empire and Black-ish. UMI has built a solid career with her unique sound, gaining fans through her dynamic live performances.
