Yann Tiersen is a French composer and performer best known for his musical score to the film Amélie. With piano, accordion, violin, guitar, melodica, harpsichord, and typewriter as his main instruments, Tiersen creates intricate and evocative melodies influenced by classical, folk, and rock music. His most acclaimed albums include Goodbye Lenin!, Good Bye Lenin Soundtrack, L’Absente, Les Retrouvailles, Dust Lane, and Eusa. He has received numerous awards and recognitions in France for his work, including a César Award for Best Music Written for a Film in 2002.
