The Forgotten Carols is a holiday musical created by composer and author Michael McLean, originally released as an album in 1991. The production tells the story of a nurse who meets an elderly patient named John, who shares forgotten stories of people who witnessed the first Christmas. It has become a beloved annual tradition for many families, particularly in Utah and among Latter-day Saint communities. The show has toured extensively across the United States during the Christmas season, featuring live performances of its original songs. McLean himself has performed in and narrated the show over many years of its touring history.
