Skydiggers are a Canadian folk rock band from Toronto, Ontario. The group was founded in 1988 by vocalists and songwriters Josh Finlayson and Andy Maize. The original lineup also included singer and guitarist Peter Cash, drummer Brendan Itcheson, and bassist Steve Schmidt. Skydiggers have released over 12 studio albums of original material and one Christmas album. The darker, more contemplative tone of their work has drawn comparisons to songwriters like John Prine and Crazy Horse, and their sound has been described as "a soundtrack to fading love, broken friendships and blighted dreams." The group has been widely acclaimed, with its live performances often garnering praise. Several individual Skydiggers members have also gone on to pursue successful solo careers.
