About The Ataris
The Ataris are an American pop-punk band from Anderson, Indiana, formed in 1996. The Ataris achieved mainstream success with their fourth studio album, So Long, Astoria, which was produced by Lagwagon frontman Joey Cape and released through Columbia Records in 2003. The album produced the hit single "The Boys of Summer" which reached #20 in the Billboard Hot 100.
The band then released its fifth and final studio album Welcome the Night in 2007. Since then, The Ataris have released several live albums and acoustic EPs through their own label, Kung Fu Records. They also went on to do several tours and reunited in 2013.
The Ataris music is characterized by its often vulnerable and emotional lyrics which cover themes of love and loss, nostalgia as well as personal experience. The band's cult following has been cemented by their tours and acoustic sets, as well as their collaboration with artists across multiple genres.
