Mykki Blanco is an American rapper and poet, born Michael Quattlebaum Jr. They are credited as a founding figure in the genre of queer rap, and create work that deals with gender identity, sexuality and mental health. Blanco is known for experimenting with different styles of hip hop from jazz rap to trap and choosing unique outfits, often wearing unisex, androgynous clothing. They have released several mixtapes, EPs, and albums and have collaborated with several high profile artists such as Death Grips, Bjørk and Disclosure. Mykki Blanco has been critically acclaimed for their talents within the music industry and has been featured on notable publications from Vice, Pitchfork to Rolling Stone.
