Chris de Burgh is an Irish singer and songwriter most famously known for his 1986 hit “The Lady in Red”. He started his career in 1975 with his first album, Far Beyond These Castle Walls, and followed it up with a number of successful albums, including Spanish Train and Other Stories (1975), At the End of a Perfect Day (1977), and Crusader (1979). Throughout the 80s he released a string of top 10 hits in the UK, and also had chart success in Germany and the Netherlands. He has released sixteen studio albums, and his more recent albums, including The Storyman (2016) and A Better World (2017) have earned him praise for its uplifting themes and catchy music. He has also won a number of awards, including the Silver Clef Award in 2003, and has been involved in a variety of charitable causes, including wind turbine projects and AIDS charities.
