About The Wonder Stuff
The Wonder Stuff are an English alternative rock band formed in Stourbridge in 1986 by frontman Miles Hunt, drummer Martin Gilks, bassist Malcolm Treece, and guitarist Rob Davies. Originally part of the post-punk revival scene, they wrote iconoclastic and socially aware songs with a punk edge.
The band's early work garnered strong critical acclaim, with their debut album ‘The Eight Legged Groove Machine’ reaching #5 in the UK and achieving double platinum status. They had more mainstream success with their follow-up album, ‘Hup’, producing the hit singles ‘Size of a Cow’ and ‘Don't Let Me Down, Gently’.
The Wonder Stuff had two more top 20 albums, ‘Never Loved Elvis’ and ‘Construction for the Modern Idiot’, before a hiatus during the 90s. The band reformed in 2000 and have released four further albums since then
