Crowbar is an American sludge metal band from New Orleans, LA, formed in 1989. Crowbar is one of the frontrunners of the NOLA metal sound, combining heavy metal riffs and hardcore punk attitude. They have released 12 studio albums and 2 live albums, and are the only original band left in New Orleans’ “Big 4” of heavy metal bands (the other three are: Exhorder, Acid Bath, and Eyehategod). Their most successful album to date was 2001’s Silver & Gold, an album packed with crushing riffs, soulful southern grooves and Kirk Windstein’s trademark unbridled intensity. The band has toured widely throughout the U.S. with various acts and have also toured Europe, New Zealand and Australia. Their inimitable sound has seen them become a group of heavy metal icons, and has made Crowbar one of the most beloved bands in the genre.
