About Moving Pictures
Moving Pictures is an Australian pop rock band, who rose to prominence in the early 1980s with their highly successful single "What About Me". The band, composed of guitarist Nick Smith, bassist Russell Smith, pianist Garry Frost, keyboardist Marty Webster, and drummer Geoff Cox, was soon regarded as one of Australia's most successful independent bands when their debut album, Days of Innocence, earned sales of over a quarter of a million records. They followed up their success with a string of popular and critically acclaimed singles, such as “Crying” and “Never”. After changing lineups in the late 1980s, they released their final studio album, Electric, in 1993. Though they disbanded in the mid-1990s, the band reunited in 2014 to re-release Days of Innocence, celebrate their 30th anniversary, and embark on a tour. Moving Pictures is now regarded as one of the most influential bands in the Australian music scene.
