About Dean Friedman

Dean Friedman is an American singer, songwriter, author, and multi-instrumentalist from Paramus, New Jersey. He had his first commercial success in 1977 with "Ariel," a song about falling in love with an "angel on roller skates." The ballad was a hit in the United Kingdom and Australia, as well as on the U.S. adult contemporary radio stations. He followed up with two more hit singles from that album, "Lucky Stars" and "McDonald's Girl," and his popularity would only continue to grow. Friedman released several more albums throughout the late 70s and 80s, producing multiple Top 40 hits. He wrote the 1978 hit "Woman of Mine" for Barry Manilow. Additionally, he has written songs for musicals and television shows. His most recent albums include an album of remixed versions of his old hits, and a new album of original material. His influence continues to be heard in the music of today.
