About Laura Marling

Laura Marling is a singer-songwriter from South West England who has gained international recognition over the last decade. She began writing and performing as a teenager, releasing her debut album Alas, I Cannot Swim in 2008 when she was just 18, and from then on has generated acclaim for her clever and honest narratives. Marling’s thoughtful and self-described ‘folk-pop’ garnered her commercial and critical successes, with her follow-up album I Speak Because I Can earning her her first Mercury Prize nomination in 2010. She has since gone on to win multiple accolades, including two Brit Awards, as well as six more nominations across the Ivor Novello and Grammy Awards categories. Marling’s music has been widely loved, and with her fourth album Once I Was An Eagle (2013) she achieved her highest UK chart placement. Her most recent album is Song For Our Daughter (2020).
