5 Seconds of Summer, often abbreviated as 5SOS, is an Australian rock band formed in Sydney in 2011. The band originally consisted of schoolfriends Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford, Calum Hood, and Ashton Irwin. They have since earned international fame as a popular pop rock band, with over 70 million singles and albums sold worldwide.

The band’s first single, “She Looks So Perfect”, topped the charts in Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and the United Kingdom in April 2014. They released their debut studio album, 5 Seconds of Summer, in June 2014, which peaked at number one in 11 countries. Their second album, Sounds Good Feels Good, was released in October 2015 and was number one in 8 countries.
