About Abstract Orchestra
Abstract Orchestra is a 15-piece hip-hop orchestra from Manchester, UK, founded by Dom Search and Rob L of the Manchester Scene. The band perform works of classic hip-hop, ranging from De La Soul to A Tribe Called Quest, using live instruments, a DJ and a team of vocalists. The music they produce is heavily inspired by the golden age of hip-hop.
Abstract Orchestra has developed a huge cult following in the UK, selling out venues all over the country. They have also been featured at major festivals such as Glastonbury, Boomtown, and Secret Garden Party, and have performed with hip-hop icons such as De La Soul and DJ Yoda. The band have also been the subject of a BBC Radio 4 documentary and have been featured in publications such as The Guardian, VICE, and Mojo.
