About Alexander O'Neal
Alexander O'Neal is a popular R&B and soul singer and songwriter from Natchez, Mississippi. After relocating to Minneapolis, he began his music career as lead singer of the band Alexander Robotnick in the early 1980s. After Robotnick disbanded, O'Neal went solo and released his self-titled debut album in 1985. This album featured the hit singles "Fake" and "If You Were Here Tonight", which both made the Billboard Hot 100. He went on to release multiple more albums, including the platinum selling Hearsay in 1987, which spawned the hit singles "Criticize", "Fake", and "Never Knew Love Like This". His career has been successful for 40 years, with him receiving a Soul Music Hall Of Fame induction in 2018. In 2017, he reunited with his former band Robotnick to tour and even release a remake of their iconic single "Never Knew Love Like This".
