American folk rock and pop recording group America first formed in 1970, comprising of Gerry Beckley, Dewey Bunnell, and Dan Peek. Their debut album, America, was released the same year and contained the transatlantic hit single A Horse with No Name, which broke into the Billboard Hot 100 and in the United Kingdom. This single peaked at number 1 in both countries, and was followed up by their second studio, Homecoming. This album contained the international hit singles Ventura Highway, and the Grammy Award winning Tin Man. After Dan Peek left the group, they released several other albums including Hearts, Harbor, and the self-titled album in 1982, which featured the hit single You Can Do Magic. During the 1990’s they released the album Hourglass, Human Nature, and the holiday themed Holiday Harmony.
