As I Lay Dying is an American metalcore band from San Diego, California, formed in 2000. The band consists of five members: two guitarists, vocalist Tim Lambesis, bassist/clean vocalist and keyboardist Josh Gilbert, and drummer Jordan Mancino. As I Lay Dying has released six studio albums, all of which have reached the top spot on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart. Their most well-known albums are Frail Words Collapse, An Ocean Between Us, and The Powerless Rise. They have also released two live DVDs and two compilation albums. As I Lay Dying is known for their intense live performances, technicality, and melodic choruses. They have toured around the world and are one of the most successful metal bands in recent years.
