DeepChord is an electronic music project headed by Mike Schommer, a veteran producer from Detroit. He has achieved international success through his releases on labels such as Soma, Echoes, Astral Industries, and more. His sound is characterized by impenetrable ambience and dub-infused techno/ambient grooves, occasionally incorporating field recordings and acoustic elements. His extensive discography includes numerous studio albums, EPs, compilations, and collaborations, often with the likes of Dieter Krause, Morgan Geist, and Mauro Pawlowski. DeepChord is lauded for producing music that stands to this day as an integral part of the ambient and electronica scenes.
