Funk Flex is an American Hip-Hop DJ, radio presenter, producer, and artist hailing from New York City. His career began in the late 1980s as a radio host for New York stations Hot 97 and WBLS. He soon gained renown as a "turntable commentator" and is now considered to be one of the most influential hip-hop figures in the city. He has been widely credited with pioneering the mixtape industry and brought mainstream attention to some of the biggest names in hip-hop. He has also released his own music, hosting multiple singles, EPs, and two studio albums throughout his career. In 2019, he was inducted into the Radio Hall Of Fame. Having helped break some of hip-hop's biggest newcomers, Funk Flex remains a highly respected figure in the Hip-Hop and radio community.
