Hypnotic Brass Ensemble is an eight-piece brass band from Chicago, Illinois. Influenced by jazz, hip hop, funk, and soul, the band features eight sons of legendary jazz-trumpeter Phil Cohran. Hypnotic Brass Ensemble has released four full-length albums, and introduced an immediate and accessible sound to 21st century music fans. They stand out for their energetic and lively performances, with their music featured in films, television shows, and commercials. In recent years, the band has continued to reach new audiences by collaborating with artists like Prince, KiD CuDi, Manu Chao, Erykah Badu, and Macy Gray. Their most recent album, Book of Sound was released in late 2019.
