About Lucy Ward
Lucy Ward is an English folk singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist based in Derby, England. She has been writing songs since 2006 and released her debut album 'Adelphi Has To Fly' in 2010. In 2011, she received a BBC Radio 2 Folk Award for Best Original Song and has since gone on to win many more accolades and send support to established folk artists such as Joan Baez.
Ward draws on her twenties experiences and her rural upbringing in the small, Derbyshire village of Willington, to write and perform her songs. Her most notable work is her BBC Radio 4 documentary 'Songs of Social Change', which looks into the power of music and the changes over the decades.
Since 2009, Ward has released three albums and an EP and has featured on albums by various other folk singers and bands. Her fourth album 'Let All The World Believe' was released in 2014, with the title track nominated for a BBC Radio 2
