Machinedrum, also known as Travis Stewart, is a Brooklyn-based producer and recording artist of electronic dance music. He began his career in the early 2000s with releases on the Merck Records and Planet Mu labels. His 2007 debut solo album Now You Know was critically acclaimed and was described as 'genre-defying'. The follow-up, 2011's Room(s), saw him pushing his sounds to new levels, mixing classic house rhythms, grime and dubstep. Since then, he has diversely explored genres such as hip-hop, footwork, techno and future house on further albums, Ultraviolet (2014) and Human Energy (2016). He expanding his sound even further with his 2020 album A View of U. Machinedrum has toured extensively around the world with the likes of Bonobo and Flying Lotus, as well as through his solo performances.
