Manu Chao is a singer-songwriter of Spanish descent, born and raised in France. He has a repertoire that combines multiple influences including Reggae, Punk, Rock, Latin, Ska and French chanson. He sang first international hit single, “Bongo Bong”, while a member of the former group Manu Negra. In 2000, he released his solo debut album “Clandestino”, which produced multiple hits including “Welcome to Tijuana” and “Me Gustas Tu”. After touring extensively with the Clandestino material, he returned in 2006 with a single titled “Rainin in Paradize”, which later became an LP. Manu Chao continues to tour the world to date, winning various awards throughout his career, and is recognized as one of most important figures in world music.
