About Men Without Hats

Men Without Hats are a Canadian new wave/synthpop musical group formed in 1977 that was originally composed of brothers Ivan, Stefan and Colin Doroschuk, with their fourth, unknown member Tony Rodwell, joining later. They are best known for their 1982 hit song "The Safety Dance", which received considerable airplay in the United States and charted in the top 20s in the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, Austria, Netherlands, Republic of Ireland, and South Africa. Other popular hits include "Pop Goes the World", "Antarctica" and "I Got the Message". The group formed as a punk rock band in Montreal, Quebec, but switched to a more synthpop-oriented sound in the early 1980s which gained them much popularity. Since then the band has released 6 albums, with their last being Love in the Age of War in 2012. Although they have not released an album in nearly 8 years, they continue to perform live and tour worldwide.
