Omar (UY) is a Uruguayan multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer who creates a unique blend of Latin American and jazz music. Born in Montevideo, Uruguay, OMAR (UY), started playing the clarinet and saxophone at age 9, later teaching himself guitar and other instruments. He has collaborated with over 100 international acts, and in 2015 released his debut album, “Lola”, to critical acclaim. This was followed by “Conexion” in 2018, creating an even larger buzz from the public and industry professionals alike. He has performed in numerous venues across South America, North America, Europe, and Africa, showcasing his original music alongside Latin and jazz music influences. Assembling a team of talented musicians, he launched OMAR (UY) Music Society, an independent platform for musicians and producers to collaborate. His aim is to create a home for innovative music making and stories.
