Periphery is an American progressive metal band based in Baltimore. Formed in 2005, the band consists of vocalist Spencer Sotelo, guitarists Misha Mansoor, Mark Holcomb, and Jake Bowen, bassist Adam “Nolly” Getgood, and drummer Matt Halpern. The band has released five studio albums, two EPs, and two live performance albums since their formation in 2005. Their first album, Periphery, was released in 2010, and their second, Periphery II: This Time It’s Personal, reached the Top 10 of the US Heatseekers chart in 2012. While the band is known for its progressive metal sound, they often incorporate elements from electronica, jazz, and industrial genres. Periphery have been praised for their musicianship and innovative style of music. The band has toured extensively with acts like Dream Theater, Animals as Leaders, and Metallica.
