The Pixies are an alternative rock band from Boston, Massachusetts, and distinguished themselves by practicing a quite-loud type of rock that gets inspiration from surf and psychedelic rock. They exercise different music structures in their tracks furnishing new musical sentiments when they perform on stage. Formed in 1986, the band went through some turmoil before getting back together in 2004 and continuing on their musical journey. With sound influences from the likes of Nirvana or Smashing Pumpkins, their cut back music received mediocre results in the US; however, they gained popularity in Europe. Without even striving to reach the top of the charts, Pixies laid back alternative sound granted them a few records like "Where Is My Mind?" that caught the publics' attention. Pixies were unconformist in their music as much as they were unconformist in their attitude towards what they were doing, and it suited them!
