Purgatory is an American alternative rock band from New Jersey. Formed in 1998, the band consists of vocalist and guitarist Jayson Blender, guitarist Carlos Cornejo, bassist Pete Mutings and drummer Joe Capobianco.

Drawing influences from punk, hard rock, alternative metal and noise rock, Purgatory have released three studio albums to date; 'Chill Out' (2002), 'The Longest Night' (2008) and 'Reigning Down from Chaos' (2016). All three albums feature heavy hitting riffs, aggressive vocal delivery, and melodic intensity.

The band were signed to Suburban Noize Records from 2002-2008 and since their reunion in 2015 they have performed at festivals, clubs and even appeared on the Vans Warped Tour. They also continue to record and release new music, most recently with their 2020 single 'Omega'.
