Simple Minds is a Scottish rock band formed in 1977. One of the most commercially successful Scottish bands of all time, the group charted five UK No.1 albums and twelve UK Top 40 singles throughout their career. Their biggest success came in 1985 with their hit single Don't You (Forget About Me), which was featured in the movie The Breakfast Club and went to No.1 in the US singles chart. They had more success in the late 80's, notably a UK No.1 with Belfast Child and two other Top 10 hits. They have since continued to tour and record records, but never quite regained the levels of success achieved in the mid-80's. Nevertheless, they remain one of the most successful and iconic rock bands to come from Scotland and continue to tour the world.
