Soul for Real is an R&B music group from Brooklyn, New York. The band, consisting of brothers Cedric, Andre, Jason, and Christopher, formed in 1992 when they were aged 8 to 13. The brothers originally started performing gospel music at their local church and got their break into music with their first record deal with Uptown Records.

In 1995, Soul for Real released their first studio album, titled Candy Rain, which spawned the group's well-known single "Candy Rain." The song went gold and remained at number one on Billboard's R&B singles chart for three weeks in a row. The band's follow-up album, For Life, was released in 1998 and featured the single "Unconditional Love".

Soul for Real has gone on to work with prominent industry artists such as Mary J. Blige, P. Diddy, and Timbaland. The group has released a total of 4 studio albums to date with
