Steven Wilson is an English musician and producer from Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, active since the late 1980s. He is best known as the founder of the Norwegianrecord label and progressive rock band Porcupine Tree. He has also maintained a solo career, forming collaborative projects Bass Communion, IEM, and Blackfield. As a solo artist, his albums have been released through Snapper Music, Kscope, and Caroline International.

Wilson is noted for his involvement in the progressive rock genre and its subgenres, as well as his use of technology in the recording and composition process. He has often worked with collaborators, including composers, lyricists, vocalists and session musicians, as well as his work as a multi-instrumentalist. Throughout his career, Wilson has earned critical acclaim for his songwriting, production, and musicianship. He's produced records for multiple bands, including No-Man, Opeth, Katatonia, Anathe
