Svalbard are a British post-metal band from Derby, England, formed in 2011. They have released four studio albums to date, as well as several singles and EPs. Their music combines elements of melodic hardcore, sludge metal, post-rock and post-metal to create a unique sound and atmosphere. The band often sing about the darker side of life and human nature with a reflective and emotive approach. They have toured extensively throughout Europe and have played alongside other popular acts such as Converge and Cult of Luna. Their intense live performances and passionate songwriting continue to bring them greater critical and commercial success, culminating in their 2018 album It's Hard to Have Hope which was hailed by fans and critics alike.
